Misty Rhodes, director of OU's Academic Programs-CAFE in OutreachMisty Rhodes is the director for Academic Programs associated with the Colleges of Education, Fine Arts, Architecture and Arts and Sciences, for University Outreach College of Continuing Education at the University of Oklahoma. She received a bachelor’s degree in public affairs and administration from the University of Oklahoma and a master’s degree in management from Southern Nazarene University. Rhodes brings to OU an extensive background in training and development, project management and quality assurance from the HERTZ Corporation, which includes training in Six Sigma and LEAN methodologies. Prior to Hertz, she worked in commercial banking and property management. Rhodes is an elected member of Delta Mu Delta and National Honor Society for Business Administration and holds certificates in training and development, which include Critical Skills for Customer Partnerships and Foundations of Management.

In her role as director, Rhodes oversees the development and delivery of national and international credit programs, degrees, travel-study programs and non-credit training programs, including business and industry relationships with the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel, Petro China and the China National Offshore Oil Company. Additionally, she is responsible for the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) program as well as the administration of contracts with public, private and government agencies such as Lockheed Martin and Homeland Security. Along with her business background, Rhodes brings an enthusiasm and vision that will enhance CAFÉ and University Outreach.

 

Sammi Fields
Staff Assistant III

Sammi Fields has been a staff assistant III since 2002. Her responsibilities include providing clerical support for credit and noncredit programs, in conjunction with various departments such as education, engineering and arts and sciences. Fields also assists with such programs as the Advanced Placement Summer Institute, which provides training to public and private school teachers in their specific subject areas. In addition, workshops that are designed to educate counselors, teachers and parents are another facet of the exciting outreach offerings that she actively facilitates in Academic Programs.

Prior to coming to the College of Continuing Education, Fields worked in the department of Disability and Judicial Services, a division of Student Affairs at the University of Oklahoma.
